About Inkline

Permanent Makeup, Crafted Like Art

Permanent makeup is exactly that — permanent — which means it is not something to trust to just anyone, and it is not a service where 'close enough' is acceptable. It's a genuine art form that combines a technician's precision, a colorist's eye, and an artist's understanding of how a face is balanced, and getting it right takes real skill, real training, and real care. At Inkline, that's the standard we hold ourselves to on every single client. As a certified and licensed PMU artist with eight years of dedicated experience, everything starts with mapping: before any pigment touches your skin, we measure and design the ideal brow shape for your unique face, and for lips we assess your natural shape and tone — and crucially, we do not begin until you have seen and approved the exact shape and color. There are no surprises, because you're in control of the design. From there, the artistry takes over: for microblading, we hand-draw fine, hair-like strokes that mimic real brow hairs so the result looks completely natural, even up close; for powder and ombré brows, we build a soft, misty, filled-in finish; and for lip blush, we deposit a soft, flattering flush of color matched perfectly to your skin tone. We work in a scrupulously clean, comfortable, beautiful studio, we use premium pigments and follow the highest standards of safety and hygiene, and we walk you through healing and aftercare so your results settle in perfectly and last for years. So much of our work is transforming the brows of people who lived through the over-plucked thin-brow era or who simply spend precious time filling them in every morning — and giving them the joy of waking up already put-together. Our clients tell us the same thing again and again: that their brows and lips look so natural no one can tell, that it's the best decision they've made for themselves, and that it's genuinely life-changing to open their eyes already looking their best. If you want permanent makeup done as the true art form it is, book a consultation and let's design yours.

Healing & Longevity

Beautiful Results That Last for Years

One of the most common questions we hear is how permanent makeup heals and how long it lasts, so let's demystify it, because understanding the process is part of loving your results. Permanent makeup is a two-part journey: your initial appointment, and a perfecting touch-up several weeks later once your skin has healed. In the days right after your first session, your brows or lips will look a bit bolder and darker than the final result — this is completely normal — and over the following week or two they'll go through natural healing stages, softening and lightening as your skin recovers, until the true, healed color emerges. We walk you through exactly what to expect at each stage and give you clear, simple aftercare instructions, because how you care for the area during healing genuinely affects how crisp and beautiful the final result is; following them is easy and makes all the difference. Around six to eight weeks in, once everything has settled, we do a perfecting touch-up to fill in any spots that healed lighter, refine the shape, and ensure the color is exactly right — this is a normal, expected part of the process and is what delivers that flawless final result. From there, well-done permanent makeup typically lasts anywhere from one to three years before it gradually and softly fades, at which point a simple color-refresh touch-up brings it right back to life; how long yours lasts depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare. We use premium pigments and precise technique specifically so your results heal beautifully and hold their natural color over time. The payoff is years of waking up with perfect brows or a perfect lip tint, no daily makeup, and the quiet confidence of always looking put-together. We're with you through every step of the process, and we're always here for your questions. Let's create something that looks effortless and lasts.

  • A two-part process: initial + perfecting touch-up
  • Clear guidance through every healing stage
  • Typically lasts 1–3 years, then a simple refresh
  • Premium pigment for natural, lasting color

Why Nashville Books Inkline

My microblading is the best money I've ever spent. I have sparse, over-plucked brows from the thin-brow era, and I used to fill them in every single morning. My artist mapped them perfectly to my face, and the strokes look so natural that no one — not even my hairdresser — can tell they're not my own hair. I wake up with perfect brows every day, my routine is nothing now, and they've healed beautifully. She's a true artist who clearly cares about getting it exactly right. I finally feel put-together the second I open my eyes.

I was terrified of permanent makeup looking fake or too dark, and Inkline completely earned my trust. My artist was meticulous — she mapped my brows, let me approve the shape and color before she started, and hand-crafted powder brows that are soft, natural, and exactly the right shade. The whole process was clean, comfortable, and clearly done by someone who takes it seriously. They healed to perfection and I get compliments constantly. If you're nervous about PMU, this is the studio to trust. It's genuinely life-changing to wake up with brows you love.

I got lip blush and I'm obsessed — my lips have a soft, natural flush of color all the time now, they look fuller and more defined, and I've basically ditched lipstick. My artist matched the perfect shade to my skin tone and the healing was smooth with her clear aftercare instructions. Beyond the results, the studio is gorgeous and calming and she made me feel completely at ease. This is real artistry from someone who's mastered her craft. Waking up with a perfect natural tint on my lips is a joy every single day.

Good Questions

Permanent Makeup, Answered

Will my microblading or PMU look natural, or too dark and fake?

Looking completely natural — never dark, harsh, or fake — is the entire goal of our work and the number-one thing our clients rave about. The overly-dark, obviously-tattooed brows that scare people come from outdated technique, the wrong pigment, or an inexperienced hand, and avoiding all of that is exactly what a skilled, certified artist is for. With microblading, we hand-draw fine, hair-like strokes that mimic your real brow hairs, so the result has natural dimension and looks realistic even up close; with powder and ombré brows, we build a soft, misty finish like a light dusting of brow powder, not a solid block. Crucially, we custom-select the pigment for your skin tone and undertone, and we design the shape to suit and balance your specific face. And you are always in control: we map the shape and choose the color together, and we do not begin until you've seen and approved exactly what we're going to do, so there are no surprises. It's also worth knowing that PMU always looks a bit bolder right after the appointment and softens significantly as it heals to its true, natural color. Our clients constantly tell us that no one — not even their hairdresser — can tell their brows aren't real. Natural is the whole point, and it's what you'll get.

Does it hurt, and how long does the appointment take?

Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the process is. We use a quality topical numbing agent before and during your service to keep you comfortable, and while everyone's sensitivity is different, the vast majority of our clients describe the sensation as very manageable — more of a mild scratching or tingling than real pain — and many are relaxed enough to chat the whole time. Sensitivity can vary a little by area and by where you are in your cycle, but we go at your pace and check in throughout to make sure you're comfortable. As for time, you should plan for your initial appointment to take roughly two to three hours. That may sound like a lot, but it includes the most important parts: a thorough consultation, careful mapping and design of your shape, choosing your color, your approval, the numbing, and then the meticulous, unrushed application itself — because precise, natural PMU simply cannot be rushed. Your perfecting touch-up appointment several weeks later is shorter. We deliberately never hurry any part of the process, since this is permanent and it deserves to be done with total care. You'll be comfortable, informed, and in expert hands from start to finish.

How long does permanent makeup last, and what's the touch-up about?

Permanent makeup is long-lasting but not truly forever, which is actually a good thing — it means your look can evolve and stay fresh over time. After your initial session and the perfecting touch-up that completes the process, well-done microblading and PMU typically last anywhere from about one to three years before it gradually and softly fades, never harshly, at which point a simple color-refresh appointment restores it beautifully. How long yours lasts depends on several factors: your skin type (oily skin tends to fade a bit faster and often does better with powder brows than crisp microblading strokes), your lifestyle and sun exposure, the skincare products you use (exfoliating acids and retinols speed fading), and your body's individual healing. The perfecting touch-up, done around six to eight weeks after your first appointment, is a normal and essential part of the process, not an add-on problem: PMU heals unpredictably in spots, and the touch-up lets us fill in any areas that healed lighter, refine the shape, and perfect the color for a flawless final result. After that, most clients come back once a year or every couple of years for a refresh. We'll give you honest, personalized guidance on what to expect for your skin and how to make your results last as long as possible.

How should I prepare, and what's the aftercare like?

A little preparation helps ensure the best, most beautiful result, and we'll send you a complete list when you book, but the essentials are simple. Before your appointment, avoid blood-thinning substances like alcohol, caffeine, and certain supplements and medications (we'll give you the full list) for a day or two, since they can affect the skin during the procedure; avoid brow waxing or tinting right beforehand; and don't use exfoliating acids or retinols on the area for a week or two prior. Come with clean skin and, if you like, bring a photo of brows or lips you love so we can discuss your vision. Aftercare is straightforward but important, because how you treat the area while it heals directly affects how crisp and beautiful the final result is. In general, you'll keep the area clean and dry as directed, apply any recommended ointment sparingly, and — this is the big one — avoid picking or scratching as it flakes, avoid heavy sweating, swimming, saunas, and direct sun on the area, and keep skincare products off it during healing. We'll give you clear, specific written instructions tailored to your service and are always available for questions during your healing. It's genuinely easy to follow, and doing so is the secret to results you'll love for years.
