Flat Roofs, Adobe Walls And Hot Attics
Many homes here have flat or low-slope roofs, parapets, thick adobe or stucco walls and attics that top 140°F in July. Panels go on ballasted or tilted racks that keep the roof membrane intact, conduit runs outside the attic heat where it can, and wall penetrations are sealed the way stucco and adobe need. Questions We Get Asked
Will I need a panel upgrade for solar?
Not always. Many homes can add solar with a load calculation and the right breaker arrangement. Older 100-amp panels, or panels from brands with known problems, often do need replacing — we'll tell you which applies after the home visit.
Is there still a federal tax credit?
Not for homeowners who buy their system — the federal credit ended for home systems installed after 2025. New Mexico has had its own solar incentives over the years; we'll check what's open on the day we quote and put it in writing, and your tax preparer confirms what you can claim.
Can you install solar on a flat roof?
Yes, it's most of what we do. Ballasted or low-tilt racks sit on the roof without puncturing the membrane where possible, and we coordinate with your roofer if the roof needs work first.
Do you do electrical work without solar?
Absolutely — we were electricians long before we installed solar. Panel upgrades, rewiring, EV circuits and repairs are all regular jobs for us.
How does billing work with the utility after solar?
Your utility credits the power you send back to the grid under its current net metering rules. We'll explain the rule that applies to your account and size the system to it.
Who do I call if something goes wrong later?
Us. We installed both the solar and the electrical work, so there's no finger-pointing. Our workmanship warranty is ten years.
