How accurate is the online estimate?
Usually close. It's built from satellite imagery of your roof and your bill, so the home visit mostly confirms it. Differences come from things we can't see from above — a long run to the electrical panel, roof repairs, or a panel that needs upgrading — and we'll show you exactly why if the price moves.
Will a salesperson call me?
Not unless you ask. The estimate arrives by email, and there's a button in it to book a home visit or a call when you're ready.
Do I really need a battery?
On Oahu, for most new systems, it's what makes the numbers work. Current utility programs for new systems pay little for the power you send back at midday, so storing it for the evening is worth more than exporting it. Your estimate shows both versions.
Will the battery keep my power on in an outage?
Yes, for the circuits you choose to back up, and your panels keep recharging it during the day.
Is there still a federal tax credit?
Not for homeowners who buy their system — the federal credit ended for home systems installed after 2025. Hawaii has its own state credit and utility programs; your estimate lists what applies to you, and your tax preparer confirms what you can claim.
How long does it take to go live?
Most Oahu homes take a few months from signing to switch-on, mostly waiting on permits and utility approval. The installation itself is usually two days.
