Our Coaches

Coaches Who Played The Game Now Teach It

Our founder pitched four years of college baseball, coached high school ball around the metro for a decade, and opened the academy in 2014 because local kids were driving an hour for good winter instruction. Today six coaches teach here, including two former college softball players who run our fastpitch program. Every coach is background-checked, CPR-certified and trained in the same way of teaching, so your player hears one message no matter who is in the cage.

  • ✓Coaches who played in high school and college
  • ✓Background checks and CPR certification for all staff
  • ✓Parents are always welcome to watch
  • ✓One written plan per player, updated every month

Fastpitch Program

Softball Pitchers Get A Softball Pitching Coach

Windmill pitching is not baseball pitching, and a fastpitch pitcher deserves a coach who has thrown ten thousand of them. Our softball program is taught by former college pitchers who start with the wrist snap and the leg drive, add spin and location, and only then move to the change-up and the pitches that come later. Every pitcher leaves with a weekly throwing schedule that fits around her team's practices.

  • ✓Taught by former college softball pitchers
  • ✓Spin, speed and location tracked each month
  • ✓Weekly throwing plan built around team practices
How Lessons Work

1

Free 30-Minute Evaluation

2

A Written Plan

Two or three things to work on first, how often to come in, and which lessons fit your budget.

3

Weekly Or Every-Other-Week Lessons

Same coach each time when you want it, booked by text or phone around school and team practices.

4

Monthly Video Check

Side-by-side video of this month and the first visit, so progress is something you can actually see.

Why Families Choose Us

What Makes A Lesson Worth The Drive

Video Every Time

Players learn faster when they can see it. Every lesson is filmed and shared with the family the same day.

Arm Care Comes First

Pitch counts, rest days and a warm-up routine for every pitcher. We would rather lose a mile an hour than a season.

Drills That Fit At Home

Each lesson ends with two or three drills that need a tee, a net or a wall — nothing you have to buy from us.

Honest Feedback

We tell parents what we see, including when a player needs rest, a different position or simply more reps.

What Parents And Players Say

★★★★★
Our son had been rolling over every outside pitch for two seasons. His coach filmed three swings, showed him where his hands were going, and gave him one drill for the garage. By the spring he was driving the ball to right field.

My daughter's pitching coach tracks her pitch count and her arm care as closely as her speed. She's thrown harder every season without a single sore shoulder, and she actually looks forward to lessons.

I was a sophomore sitting on the bench. Two winters of cage work and a plan I could follow on my own, and I started every game my senior year. The coaches here tell you the truth and then help you fix it.

Find Out What Your Player Should Work On Next

Bring a glove and a bat. You'll leave with video of the swing or delivery and a written plan — whether you book lessons or not.

Questions Parents Ask Us

How often should my player take lessons?

Once a week is the sweet spot for most players during the off-season, and every other week during the season when team practices take over. The evaluation gives you a recommendation — and we'll tell you if less is enough.

Can I watch the lesson?

Yes, always. There's seating behind every cage, and we'd rather you watch — it helps you run the home drills with your player.

Do you teach girls' fastpitch softball?

Yes. Softball pitching is taught by coaches who pitched college softball, not by baseball coaches doing their best, and our hitting, catching and fielding lessons are open to softball players too.

Is my child too young for pitching lessons?

Most players are ready for pitching lessons once they are pitching in a league, usually around nine or ten. Younger players start with throwing mechanics, which protect the arm no matter what position they end up playing.

What should we bring?

A glove, a bat if you have one, a helmet for hitting lessons, and clean indoor shoes or turf shoes. We have loaner bats and helmets if something is forgotten.

What if we need to cancel?

Give us 24 hours' notice and we'll move the lesson at no charge. Sick kids and rained-out team games happen — just call or text the front desk.
