A plain-language summary, first
Page one is written for you, not for a clinician. What we found, what it means, and what it does not mean — in sentences rather than score tables. Everyone reads page one; almost nobody reads all forty, and that is fine because page one is designed to be sufficient.
The scores, with the uncertainty stated
Every measure with its confidence interval, and a clear marking of which findings are solid and which sit close to a cut-off. A neuropsychological report that presents borderline results as certainties is doing you a disservice, and we will say out loud when something is a judgement call.

We Will Talk You Out of It If We Should
A neuropsychological evaluation is expensive, tiring and occasionally unnecessary, so it is worth saying plainly when it is the wrong purchase.
If you already have a clear diagnosis and what you actually need is treatment, testing rarely changes the plan. If you are in an acute crisis, testing will not be valid and can wait. If your only goal is a prescription and your physician does not require formal testing, an evaluation is an expensive route to a conversation you could have directly. And if you have been tested in the last two years, a repeat is frequently uninformative — practice effects are real.
We say all of this on the free call rather than after the intake fee. It costs us bookings and it is the single reason most of our referrals come from other clinicians.

It is not an exam
There is nothing to revise and no pass mark. The tests are built so that nobody completes everything — reaching your ceiling is the measurement, not a failure.
Bring your glasses and your coffee
Wear what you normally wear, bring hearing aids and reading glasses, and have caffeine as you usually would. We are measuring your ordinary functioning, not an optimised version of you.
Take your medication as prescribed
Unless we have specifically asked otherwise, and we will only ask for a clear clinical reason. Do not stop stimulants on your own initiative before testing — that is a common and unhelpful mistake.
It is one long day, not several
Four to six hours with proper breaks and lunch. Splitting it across weeks introduces variability we then have to account for, so we keep it to a single day wherever possible.
You can bring someone
A partner or parent is welcome to come to the interview and to the results appointment. For the testing itself they wait outside — an observer changes performance measurably.
Sleep matters more than anything
A bad night affects attention and processing speed enough to distort results. If you barely slept, call us — rescheduling is free and far better than testing a version of you that is not representative.

Things People Ask on the First Call
How long is the wait?
Currently three to five weeks to a testing day, and three weeks from testing to your results appointment. We publish this because the field standard is a queue nobody will quantify — if our wait grows, this page changes rather than the number quietly disappearing.
Will insurance cover it?
For medically indicated evaluations — memory concerns, post-concussion, pre-surgical — usually yes, and we are in network with Anthem, Medical Mutual and UnitedHealthcare. For adult ADHD, autism and learning evaluations, frequently not. We check your specific plan and tell you which category you are in before you book.
Can you prescribe medication afterwards?
No, we are psychologists rather than physicians. The report is written so your prescriber has exactly what they need to act on it, and we can name prescribers in Columbus who are comfortable with adult ADHD. We take no fee for that referral.
What if the testing says I don't have it?
That happens, and it is a real result rather than a wasted evaluation. A negative finding usually comes with an explanation of what IS going on — and something else is nearly always going on, since people do not seek testing for no reason. Do you assess children?
