Heavy Recovery, Start To Finish
Class 7 and 8 trucks, buses, motorhomes and equipment — towed, recovered or transferred, day or night.
A Recovery Crew Picks Up On The First Ring
Give dispatch the location, the unit and what's loaded. You get an arrival time and a crew plan before we roll.

When It's Big, It's Ours
Granthorne was started by a diesel mechanic who spent too many nights watching light-duty wreckers try to move trucks they weren't built for. Twenty-three years later we run nine heavy wreckers and a 50-ton rotator, and every operator is trained in-house on rigging, weight and scene safety before they lead a recovery. We plan the pull before we make it — which is why loads stay on trailers and frames stay straight.
- Trainedoperators, rigging and weight taught in-house
- Writtenrecovery plan before the first cable goes on
- Lit,coned scenes with arrow boards and light towers
- Fencedyard for tractors and trailers

Heavy Towing Questions
What counts as heavy-duty towing?
Anything over about 26,000 lb — Class 7 and 8 tractors and trailers, dump trucks, buses, large motorhomes and heavy equipment. Light and medium trucks go on our smaller units.
How much does heavy towing cost?
Heavy towing is priced by the equipment and time the job takes, plus mileage. Dispatch will give you an estimate on the phone before we roll, and fleet accounts get agreed rates in advance.
Can you recover a loaded trailer without unloading it?
Often, yes. With the rotator and air cushions we can upright many loaded trailers intact. When a transfer is safer, we bring forklifts and a replacement trailer.
Do you tow buses and motorhomes?
Yes — school and coach buses and Class A motorhomes, with lift attachments that protect low front ends and air suspension.
Do you offer fleet accounts?
Yes. One number for every unit, priority dispatch, agreed rates and a single monthly invoice with photos and times for each job.
Where do you work?
Allentown and the surrounding valley, including the interstate and turnpike corridors, with longer recoveries quoted by the mile.
