About Us

Small Groups. Guides Who Live Here.

Erik Stenmark started guiding in western Montana in 2014 and still leads trips every summer. Our guides live in western Montana, hold wilderness first aid certification and guide only where we hold the permits to do it. We keep groups to ten so everyone gets the guide's attention, the wildlife doesn't hear us coming and dinner is still a conversation.

  • ✓Ten guests or fewer on every trip
  • ✓Wilderness first aid certified guides

Reviews

From People Who've Hiked With Us

★★★★★
Five days in the Mission Mountains with eight strangers who were friends by the second night. Our guide knew every trail, every bear rule and where the huckleberries were. I've already signed up for Patagonia.

★★★★★
I'm 61 and was nervous about keeping up. They were honest about the difficulty when I called, matched me to the Yellowstone trip, and I saw wolves through a spotting scope at dawn.
Greg M.Yellowstone wildlife trip, Spokane
★★★★★
Everything was handled: permits, food, tents, the shuttle to the trailhead. All we did was walk, eat and stare at the mountains.

Questions

Adventure Tour FAQ

How fit do I need to be?

It depends on the trip. Each one has a difficulty rating, and we talk with every guest before booking to make sure the trip fits.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. About half our guests travel solo. Rooms and tents are shared with a guest of the same gender, or you can pay a single supplement.

What about bears?

Our guides carry bear spray, know the parks' food storage rules and teach the group how to hike safely in bear country on day one.

What's included in the price?

Guiding, lodging or camping, most meals, permits and transport during the trip. Flights to Missoula or Bozeman and travel insurance are extra.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 90 days before the trip and we refund your deposit minus a $100 fee. Between 90 and 60 days, we keep the deposit and you owe nothing more. Inside 60 days, once the balance is paid, we refund only if we can fill your spot. Travel insurance options are quoted with every booking.

Do you run private trips?

Yes. Families, friends and companies can book any trip as a private group on dates that suit them.
