Exam Technique, Not Just Content

Most students we meet know more than their mock results suggest. What lets them down is running out of time, misreading a question or not knowing how marks are awarded. So alongside the subject itself, every tutor teaches how the exam works: command words, mark schemes and timed practice on real past papers.

Our tutors are qualified teachers or subject graduates, and every one holds an enhanced DBS check. Sessions are one-to-one, at our Didsbury rooms or online.

What Families Say

★★★★★
Our son got a 3 in his maths mock and was convinced he'd have to resit. Weekly sessions from January, a lot of past papers and some honest talk about exam technique, and he came out with a 6 in the summer. More importantly, he stopped panicking in exams.
Sarah H.Parent, GCSE Maths, Chorlton
★★★★★
A-level chemistry was a huge jump from GCSE. My tutor went through every required practical and showed me how the mark schemes actually reward answers.
Imran A.Student, A-level Chemistry, Withington
★★★★★
We started 11+ preparation in Year 5 with no idea what to expect. Clear plan, short weekly sessions and no pressure at home — our daughter actually enjoyed the verbal reasoning.

Questions

What Parents Ask

How much does a GCSE tutor cost?

£40 an hour for GCSE subjects, £48 an hour for A-level and £38 an hour for 11+ preparation. The Easter revision course is £195 for five mornings. The first call is free.

Is there a contract?

No. You pay monthly in arrears for the lessons that took place, and you can stop at any time.

When should we start?

For GCSEs, the start of Year 10 or Year 11 works well. Plenty of students start after mocks, and we'll be honest about what can be done in the time left.

Do you know our exam board?

Yes. We teach AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC specifications and use past papers from the board your child is sitting.

Can you guarantee a grade?

No tutor can. What we can promise is a clear plan, honest feedback and plenty of exam practice.

Are your tutors DBS checked?

Yes. Every tutor holds an enhanced DBS check, and we ask for references before they teach with us.
