The Shop

Built in Fort Worth, Not Bolted From a Kit

Big-box gates arrive in a crate and sag by summer. Whitmore gates start as a drawing of your actual entrance — the opening, the slope, the stone or brick they'll live against — then get welded from solid stock in our Camp Bowie shop. Full-penetration joints, gussets where the load lives, primed and powder-coated for Texas sun. The difference shows on day one and keeps showing in year ten.

  • Designed to your opening, slope & masonry
  • Solid-stock steel, welded — never bolted kits
  • Powder-coat finishes rated for Texas sun
  • 5-year workmanship warranty in writing

The Whitmore Standard

What Every Gate Gets

Operators Sized Right

Openers specced to the gate's real weight and daily cycles — not the cheapest box that technically moves it.

Backup as Standard

Battery backup on every install, so a storm outage never leaves you stuck on the wrong side.

Safety Loops & Sensors

Photo eyes, loops, and edges installed to UL 325 — because a gate should never win an argument with a car or a kid.

How It Works

Four Steps to First Open

1

Walk the Entrance

We measure the opening, check slope and power, and talk through the look — then quote firm.

2

Design & Approve

You get a drawing of your gate on your entrance, with finish samples. Nothing is cut until you love it.

3

Build & Hang

Welded in our shop, posts set in concrete, leaves hung plumb, operators wired and tuned.

4

First Open & Handoff

We program remotes, phones, and keypads with you at the driveway — and leave when everything opens.

Automation & Access

Open From the Kitchen, the Truck, or Tulsa

The gate is half the job — the other half is never thinking about it. We install commercial operators with battery backup, video intercoms that ring your phone, keypads for the kids, tags for your vehicles, and schedules for the lawn crew. Solar packages keep remote ranch entrances rolling with no trench to the road.

  • Video intercoms that ring your phone anywhere
  • Keypads, remotes & vehicle tags for the family
  • Scheduled open hours for crews & deliveries
  • Solar operators for no-power entrances
Why Whitmore

Why Estates Call Us First

One Accountable Crew

Fabrication, masonry coordination, automation, and service under one roof — when anything needs attention, you make one call and it's handled.

Built for Cycle Counts

A family gate opens 4,000 times a year; an HOA gate 80,000. We engineer for the number yours will actually see — hinges, operators, and all.

Service That Outlasts the Sale

Maintenance plans, 24-hour repair response, and parts on the truck. Most of our new clients met us when we fixed someone else's gate.

Reviews

What the Driveways Say

Whitmore built our entry gates from a sketch of the ranch brand, automated both leaves, and tied the intercom to our phones. Two years of Texas weather later they open every single time — and every guest comments on them before they've parked. It's the best money we put into the property.

Our HOA had three bids. Whitmore's was the only one that specced commercial-grade operators and a battery backup without being asked — and their maintenance plan has kept 240 daily cycles running for 18 months without a single stuck morning.

They repaired a gate another company installed and walked away from. Diagnosed a bad board over the phone, showed up with the part, and had us rolling in an hour. Guess who does all our properties now.

Questions

Asked at the End of the Driveway

What does a custom driveway gate cost?

Manual custom gates typically start in the mid four figures; automated estate entrances with access control run higher depending on size, design, and site power. Every project gets a firm written quote after we walk the entrance — no allowances, no surprises.

Swing or slide — which should I choose?

Driveway slope decides more than taste: uphill swings need clearance, tight frontages favor slides, and windy open lots love the stability of a slide on a rail. We'll tell you which your entrance wants within five minutes of standing on it.

What if there's no power at the road?

Solar packages handle most residential cycle counts comfortably in Texas sun, and low-voltage trenching is often simpler than people expect. We'll price both so you can choose.

Can you automate my existing gate?

Usually, yes — if the gate is square, the hinges are sound, and the posts aren't moving. We'll assess it honestly; sometimes a rebuild costs less than fighting physics with a bigger motor.

Do you repair gates you didn't install?

Every week. Stuck leaves, dead control boards, crash damage, chewed wiring — we carry common parts on the truck and aim for 24-hour response across the western metro.

How long from deposit to finished gate?

Most custom gates run four to eight weeks from approved drawing to first open, depending on finish and the fabrication queue. Repairs and opener installs are usually same-week.
