Vesper is a bench shop, deliberately: two welders, purge rigs, rotary positioners, and the patience thin material demands. We built it for the work most shops turn away — the 0.035 wall that warps if you look at it wrong, the titanium that wants a full trailing shield, the housing where the weld is a visible design feature. Heat control is the whole craft here, and it shows in the bead.

Titanium Rewards the Patient
Exotic alloys aren't hard — they're unforgiving. Titanium wants total gas coverage or it embrittles invisibly. Inconel work-hardens if your sequence is lazy. Thin stainless sugars the second the back side sees air. Vesper's whole setup exists for these materials: purge chambers, trailing shields, oxygen monitors, and the discipline to stop when a color is wrong. That's the difference between a weld that photographs well and a weld that flies.

What's the thinnest material you'll weld?
We routinely weld 0.028-wall stainless and titanium tube, and we've gone thinner on instrument work with the right joint design. If you're unsure whether a wall thickness is weldable, send the drawing — we'll tell you straight, and suggest a joint change if that's the honest answer.
Do you weld titanium in open air?
Never bare. Titanium gets full argon coverage — torch, trailing shield, and back purge, with purge chambers for complex geometry. The color of the finished weld tells you everything: ours leave straw to salmon, never gray.
Can you hold cosmetic requirements?
Cosmetic-grade seams are half our work — instrument housings, visible motorsport parts, architectural details. Tell us the standard (or send a photo of what 'good' looks like to you) and we'll match it or say we can't.
What about quantities — one part or a thousand?
One to about two hundred is our sweet spot. Prototypes get bench attention; batches get fixturing and a first-article approval so the run stays identical. Beyond a few hundred pieces you likely want automation, and we'll say so.
How fast is turnaround?
Single parts and repairs usually turn in two to five working days. Fixtured batch runs quote with a firm date after first-article approval. Race weekend emergencies: call — we've turned headers overnight more than once.
Do you provide weld documentation?
Every job ships with macro photographs of the seams; material certs and dimensional checks are included where the job calls for them. Aerospace-supplier customers get documentation formatted for their quality systems.
