About the Studio

We Design Weddings Like Editorials

Folio & Ink began with a frustration: that so many weddings, even beautiful ones, look like every other wedding. We founded the studio to do something different — to approach a wedding the way a creative director approaches a magazine feature, building each celebration around a single, striking idea and carrying it through with total discipline. We are designers and producers in equal measure. The design half brings a genuine point of view: a concept, a palette, a styling language drawn from who you are, executed with an eye that has earned us features in the wedding press. The production half makes it real — the venues, the vendors, the airtight logistics that let a bold vision land flawlessly on the day. For nine years we've made editorial weddings across New York, from SoHo lofts to Hudson Valley estates. The through-line is always the same: a celebration with something to say, and the taste to say it beautifully.

Editorial Wedding Design

A singular creative concept, a styling language, and an editorial eye — the design signature the studio is known for.

Full-Service Planning

Design and production together, from first concept to final toast — one studio, one vision, flawlessly executed.

The art direction, styling, and set design that turn a wedding into an editorial worthy of the page.

Venue & Vendor Curation

The photographers, florists, and spaces whose work matches our standard — curated and directed to one vision.

A guest experience designed with the same intention as the aesthetic — considered, modern, and memorable.

Day-Of Production

Airtight production on the day, directed with a producer's precision, so the vision lands exactly as designed.

Design only, or design and full production — we shape the engagement around your wedding.

The Folio & Ink Approach

Three Rules We Design By

For a wedding with a genuine point of view, couples across New York trust Folio & Ink.

1

One Idea, Held Ruthlessly

Every wedding we design is built on a single striking concept, carried through every element with total discipline. Coherence is the difference between pretty and unforgettable.

2

Design With a Point of View

We don't chase trends or reproduce a Pinterest board. We bring a genuine creative perspective — the reason our work reads as editorial, not generic.

3

Taste, Then Production

A bold vision means nothing if it doesn't land. Our producer's precision makes the editorial real on the day, down to the last frame.

Why Couples Choose Us

An Eye You Can't Fake

What it means to have an editorial studio design your wedding.

A Real Point of View

We design with a genuine creative perspective — the reason our weddings look like no one else's.

Press-Featured Work

Our celebrations have been featured across the wedding press. The eye that earns that is the eye on your day.

Concept to Execution

One studio holds the whole vision — design and production together, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Ruthless About Detail

Every frame is intentional. We obsess over the details that make a wedding read as editorial rather than assembled.

Built Around You

The concept always begins with who you are. Editorial, yes — but unmistakably, personally yours.

A Producer's Precision

Bold design demands airtight production. We deliver both, so the vision lands flawlessly on the day.

How We Work

From Concept to Cover

A design-led process — the way an editorial wedding should be made.

1

The Brief

We start with who you are — your story, your taste, and the feeling you want the day to have.

2

The Concept

We develop a singular creative direction: the idea, palette, and styling language that will define the wedding.

3

The Build

We curate venues and vendors and produce every detail, holding the concept with discipline throughout.

4

The Day

We direct the wedding with a producer's precision, so the editorial lands exactly as designed.

A Wedding With Something to Say

Anyone can make a wedding pretty. Making one mean something — that takes a point of view. It's the difference we build our whole studio around. Every celebration we design begins not with flowers or a color, but with an idea: a concept drawn from who you are, sharp enough to give the entire day a spine. Then we art-direct it like a shoot — the composition of a room, the tension of a palette, the styling of a single place setting — so that every frame is intentional and the whole reads as authored, not assembled. The result is a wedding that photographs like an editorial and feels, in person, like the truest possible expression of a couple. It's why our work ends up in the press. But more than that, it's why it ends up meaning something to the people who lived it.

  • Every wedding begins with an idea, not a color
  • Art-directed like an editorial shoot
  • Every frame intentional, the whole authored
  • A celebration that photographs — and feels — like no other
Good Questions

Editorial Wedding Questions, Answered

What does 'editorial wedding design' actually mean?

It means we approach your wedding the way a creative director approaches a magazine feature: we build the whole celebration around a single, considered concept and carry it through every element with discipline. The result is a wedding with a genuine point of view — modern, intentional, and photographed like an editorial — rather than a lovely-but-familiar version of everyone else's day. It's design with a spine.

Do you only do design, or full planning too?

Both, and we shape the engagement to fit. Full-service is our signature — design and production together, from first concept to final toast. We also take on design-and-creative-direction engagements for couples who have a planner or venue coordinator but want our eye, our styling, and our editorial standard on the aesthetic. We'll recommend the right fit when we talk.

Is an editorial wedding more expensive?

Design at this level is an investment, and we're candid about that from the first conversation. Our fee is quoted transparently based on scope, and all vendor and production costs are tracked openly in your budget. What we can promise is that every dollar is spent with intention — an editorial wedding isn't about spending more, it's about spending with a point of view.

Will our wedding get featured in the press?

Many of ours have been, and we have strong relationships with editors and photographers — but we never design for the feature. We design for you. When a wedding is genuinely original and beautifully executed, press interest tends to follow naturally. If a feature matters to you, tell us, and we'll keep it in mind as we plan and document the day.

We're not in Manhattan — do you travel?

Yes. New York is our home base, from SoHo lofts to Brooklyn and out to the Hudson Valley and the Hamptons, but we design weddings elsewhere for the right couples and concepts. If you love our work and you're getting married beyond the city, reach out — there's a good chance we'd love to be part of it.

How far in advance should we book?

For a full-service editorial wedding, twelve to eighteen months gives the design room to breathe and secures the venues and vendors who share our standard. Because we take on a limited number of weddings a year to protect the quality of each, the popular dates go early. If your timeline is shorter, ask us — we'll be honest about whether we can do it justice.

Let's make something worth the page

Tell us about the wedding you're imagining. The first conversation is complimentary — and often where the concept begins to take shape.
