Small Weddings, Big Feelings
We didn't want a big wedding — we wanted a great day. Meadowlark found us a spot in the Gorge that almost no one knows about, handled the permit, brought a florist and an officiant, and it was just us and the view. Best decision we made. It felt completely like us.
Twenty people, one long table, the coast behind us. They planned the whole micro-wedding in about six weeks and I stressed about literally nothing. Everyone said it was the most relaxed, most personal wedding they'd ever been to.
As two introverts, the idea of a huge wedding made us both anxious. Eloping felt right, but we had no idea where to start. Meadowlark made it simple, warm, and genuinely fun. We hiked up, said our vows, and cried the whole time. Perfect.

Elopement Questions, Answered
What exactly counts as an elopement these days?
However you want it to. For most of our couples it's a ceremony with just the two of you, or a micro-wedding of up to about 20 people. It's less about the guest count and more about keeping the day intimate, intentional, and focused on the two of you.
Can we still have a few guests?
Absolutely. Our micro-wedding option is built for up to 20 guests — close family and your dearest friends. We'll help you plan seating, a small dinner, and all the touches that make it feel like a real celebration, just scaled to the people who matter most.
Do you handle the permits and legal parts?
Yes. Many of the best PNW spots require a permit for a ceremony, and we handle that for you. We'll also walk you through the marriage license process for Oregon so your elopement is fully legal and stress-free.
What if it rains? It's the Pacific Northwest.
We plan for it. Every elopement includes a confident weather backup — an alternate location or timing — so a little PNW drizzle becomes part of the magic rather than a problem. Some of our most beautiful elopements happened in the mist.
How far in advance should we book?
Two to four months is comfortable for most elopements, and we've happily planned beautiful days in less. Popular summer and early-fall weekends fill up, so if you have a date in mind, reach out early and we'll let you know what's open.
How much does an elopement cost?
Far less than a traditional wedding — that's part of the appeal. After a quick chat about your vision, we'll send a clear, flat planning fee based on the package you choose, with vendor costs tracked transparently. No vague percentages, no surprises.
