Three steps: switch on Developer mode under Settings → Security and login; go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click +, enter Zarla as the name, paste https://www.zarla.com/api/mcp as the Server URL and leave Authentication on OAuth; click Create and sign in to Zarla when its page opens. Adding an app is a Developer-mode feature in ChatGPT today. OpenAI’s Developer mode guide (read September 18, 2026) lists it for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts on the web; if the switch is greyed out, a workspace admin has locked it. You don’t need an API key, a terminal or a host — and Zarla itself is free to build and preview.

Yes. Ask “Show me my website” and Zarla’s preview panel renders in the conversation: your draft at phone width, page chips, and a fullscreen view with a Mobile / Desktop toggle and Refresh. It rendered with ChatGPT’s content-security enforcement on and off in our check on September 11, 2026. Ask for it after a batch of edits — ChatGPT won’t show it after every change unless you ask. Nothing to start. Building and previewing are free — create the site, connect ChatGPT, make changes, preview in the chat. Any publish, to a free Zarla address or your own domain, needs a paid plan — see our plans. On Zarla’s Free plan, ChatGPT shares an upgrade link when you ask to publish, and publishing picks up where you left off once you’ve upgraded.

Through the Model Context Protocol, the open standard ChatGPT supports in Developer mode. Zarla runs a remote MCP server at https://www.zarla.com/api/mcp with 36 tools, and ChatGPT calls them as you chat. They read your site and pages, add or update a section, change the design and set the logo. They also update SEO, add a product, read orders, refresh the preview and publish. ChatGPT shows each action’s read or write badge and asks before changes and before a publish. Every website edit goes to your private draft first.

Website edits land in your private draft, not on your live site. Look at the preview, open the draft in the Zarla editor and change anything, or ask ChatGPT to put it back. Publishing is an explicit step — ChatGPT asks you to approve it. If you want ChatGPT out, click Disconnect on the AI apps screen in Zarla and its access ends immediately. One exception: if your site is already live and selling, product price and availability changes reach checkout right away — ask ChatGPT to republish afterwards so the page matches.

Only what the tools expose: your sites, pages, design, products, recent orders and payment status — the same things you see in the editor. Your leads inbox, bookings and invoices are not part of the connection; they stay in your Zarla dashboard. You approve the connection when you sign in and can end it any time.

Yes — Wix launched a Wix app in ChatGPT on March 2, 2026 (start a prompt with @Wix) that generates a Wix Harmony site from a description, and existing Wix users can manage their business from it. The difference with Zarla: your site is built and hosted by Zarla with products, SEO and a lead inbox included, it is free to build and preview, and you see the draft in the chat before you publish.
