The short answer
A group reformer drop-in costs $25–$50 across 24 studio menus in six big US cities, with a $40 median, observed 24 August 2026 (Junocal's 2026 Pilates Pricing Index — a six-city benchmark, not a national average). Smart Health Clubs, citing Mindbody data compiled by SchedulingKit, gives US averages of $32 for a reformer drop-in and $18 for mat, and puts mat classes at $10–$25 (October 2026).
The rest of a reformer menu, from the same index: a 10-class pack $210–$450 (median $357, $35.70 a class), an eight-class monthly membership $180–$296 (median $220), unlimited or high-frequency $199–$400 (median $294.50), and a private session $100–$175 (median $125). Semi-privates of two to four run $40–$75 a person (Smart Health Clubs).
City medians for the reformer drop-in: $45 in New York, $45.50 in Boston, $42.50 in Austin and Miami, $39 in San Francisco and $36.50 in Los Angeles (Junocal).
Price from the instructor's pay and the number of reformers: group reformer classes pay $35–$70 per class and mat classes $30–$55, $60–$100 in premium metros (Junocal, September 2026); a Balanced Body group reformer costs $3,300–$4,460 per machine and the average reformer class tops out at 12 (Smart Health Clubs).

THE PRICING FORMULA
How to price Pilates classes
Six steps from the reformers and the instructor to the price list on your website.
Count your reformers, not your floor
A reformer class is capped by machines: the average tops out at 12, and a Balanced Body group reformer costs $3,300–$4,460, so ten run roughly $33,000–$45,000 (Smart Health Clubs, October 2026). Your capacity is the number of reformers.
Pay the instructor before you price the class
US studios pay $35–$70 for a group reformer class, $30–$55 for mat, $60–$100 in premium metros; on a $120 private the instructor might take a fixed $65–$80 or a 50%–60% split (Junocal, September 2026).
Work out the cost of one spot
Cost per spot = the cost of running one class ÷ the spots in it, and the floor price is that plus your margin (bsport, June 2026). Eight clients at $40 gross about $320 a class (Smart Health Clubs) — capped by the machines, however busy the studio gets.
Keep the mat-to-reformer gap
Mat classes run $10–$25 and boutique group reformer $35–$60 (Smart Health Clubs); bsport's rule of thumb is a reformer drop-in at least 50%–100% above your mat class.
Discount packs and memberships by commitment
Index medians: $40 drop-in, $357 for ten ($35.70 a class), $220 for eight a month ($27.50 a class), $294.50 unlimited (Junocal). Smart Health Clubs' example intro offer is three classes for $49.
Price privates at two to three classes
Median $125, $100–$175 across 13 studios (Junocal); Smart Health Clubs puts a private at two to three times a $35–$50 reformer class. Semi-privates of two to four run $40–$75 a person.
The formula, worked through
Say a studio has ten reformers and pays $50 a group class — inside Junocal's $35–$70 band.
Full at the $40 median drop-in, a class takes $400; the instructor leaves $350 for rent, the machines and profit. Ten Balanced Body reformers at $3,300–$4,460 each (Smart Health Clubs) are $33,000–$44,600 — about 94 to 127 full classes' worth of that $350 before the machines have paid for themselves. Empty spots stretch that further, which is why the membership is the product: eight classes a month at the $220 median is $27.50 a class, but it fills the room on a schedule.
So “reformer drop-in $40, 10 classes $350, eight a month $220, unlimited $295, privates $125, mat $20” is a fair list for your website — a New York or Boston studio would print a $45 drop-in. The arithmetic is ours; the prices are the studios' and the publishers'.
What to charge in your part of the country
Junocal's six-city medians (four studio menus in each, observed August 2026): New York $45 a reformer drop-in, $385 for ten and $140 a private; Boston $45.50, $390 and $123.50; Austin $42.50, $377.50 and $150; Miami $42.50 and $350 for ten; San Francisco $39, $334.50 and $130; Los Angeles $36.50, $300 and $120. Four menus a city is a small sample — a guide to the spread, not a city average.
Across all prices, the Bureau of Economic Analysis puts California at 110.7 against a US average of 100 and Arkansas at 86.9 (2024 regional price parities, released February 2026) — a $35 reformer class in an average market is about $39 in California and about $30 in Arkansas.

A price list — even “from” prices — answers a customer's first question before they pick up the phone, and it's the line an AI assistant can quote when someone asks what a Pilates class costs near them.
If you build your site with Zarla, tell the editor “add a pricing section: reformer classes from $40, 10-class packs from $350, eight classes a month for $220, private sessions from $125, mat classes from $20” and your prices go on the site, in a section you can edit any time. Pilates class prices: common questions
$25–$50 for a group reformer drop-in, with a $40 median across 24 studio menus in six big US cities (Junocal, observed August 2026) — Smart Health Clubs, citing Mindbody data, gives a $32 US average; Smart Health Clubs puts boutique group reformer at $35–$60 and advanced or specialty reformer at $45–$70+. The calculator above uses both.
$10–$25 (Smart Health Clubs, October 2026). Two real menus Junocal cites: a $25 single class in New York, and $199 for nine classes at an Austin mat studio. bsport's rule of thumb keeps the reformer drop-in at least 50%–100% above the mat class (June 2026).
Index medians: $357 for a 10-class reformer pack ($35.70 a class, range $210–$450), $220 for eight classes a month ($180–$296), $294.50 for unlimited or high-frequency ($199–$400) (Junocal, observed August 2026). The bigger the commitment, the lower the per-class price.
$100–$175, median $125, across 13 US studios that publish a comparable private rate (Junocal); the city medians run from $120 in Los Angeles to $150 in Austin. Semi-privates of two to four run $40–$75 a person (Smart Health Clubs).
$35–$70 for a group reformer class, $30–$55 for mat, $60–$100 for experienced instructors in premium metros, and $20–$40 for apprentice or community classes; on a private, $50–$100 take-home per client (Junocal, September 2026). Pay is the first number to set — the class price follows it.
If you do, Smart Health Clubs' guide prices an online mat class at 40%–50% of the in-studio reformer drop-in — $16–$20 against a $40 class. Mat work travels online; reformer work needs the client's own machine.
Yes — the drop-in, the packs, the membership and a “privates from” line, with any intro offer beside them. Most results on Google's first page for “pilates class prices” are studios' own price pages. On a Zarla site, tell the editor “add a pricing section” with your list, and change it any time.
