PRESSURE WASHING INVOICE TEMPLATE

Free pressure washing invoice template

A pressure washing invoice with one line per surface — house, driveway, deck, roof, gutters — sized by the square foot or the linear foot, with the method named and a line for sealing or a maintenance plan. Free in Word and PDF, with every line explained.

The short answer

A pressure washing invoice lists each surface on its own line — house wash, driveway, patio, deck, fence, roof, gutters — with its size and the method you used: soft wash for siding and roofs, surface cleaner for concrete, low pressure for wood.

Add the extras customers notice — rust or oil-stain treatment, sealing, gutter brightening, a second-story reach — and a line for the maintenance plan if they're on one, so next year's visit is already booked.

Around it go the usual lines: your business details, the customer and the service address, an invoice number and date, tax where it applies and the balance due — most pressure washing is paid on the day.

Care and next visit

Keep sprinklers off the siding for 24 hours. A maintenance wash in 12 months keeps the algae from coming back — ask about the annual plan.

Every figure on the example is an example, not a price guide — use your own rates. The Word file is a standard .docx you can edit in Word or any app that opens Word documents; the PDF prints as-is if you'd rather fill it in by hand.

What goes on a pressure washing invoice

Every line on the template, in order, and what to write on it.

The lines of a pressure washing invoice, top to bottom
The lineWhat to put there
Business name, contact and insuranceYour trading name, phone, email and address, plus a line that you're insured — customers letting you spray their house want to see it, and it's the line that wins the job over the guy with a rented machine.
Invoice number, date and due dateA number that never repeats and the date. Most residential pressure washing is paid on the day, so “due on completion” is normal; property managers get 14 or 30 days.
Bill to and service addressWho pays and which property you cleaned — for rentals, HOAs and storefronts the payer is often not the occupant.
One line per surface, with the methodHouse, driveway, deck, roof, fence, gutters — each with its approximate size and the method you used. “Soft wash” on the siding line is what tells a customer you didn't blast their paint off.
Add-onsStain treatment, sealing, gutter brightening, window rinse, a second-story reach — one line each, so the price of the base wash stays clear.
Maintenance planIf they're on an annual or twice-yearly plan, say so and name the next visit — it's the line that turns a one-time job into a recurring customer.
Tax, total and balance dueSubtotal, sales tax where your state charges it on cleaning services, any deposit, and the balance due.
How to pay and careHow to pay and when, plus the aftercare line — sprinklers off, sealer curing time — that stops the callback.

STEP BY STEP

How to fill out a pressure washing invoice

Fill it in on the tailgate while the surfaces dry, and send it with the after photos.

01

Save your details and insurance line once

Business name, contact details and the insured line at the top, saved in the file so every invoice starts ready.

02

Number and date it

The next number in your series, today's date, and “due on completion” or a due date for commercial customers.

03

Describe the property

Stories, siding type and approximate size, the service address if it's different, and that you sent before-and-after photos.

04

List each surface with its size and method

One line per surface — the square footage or linear feet, and soft wash, surface cleaner or low pressure — then the add-ons on their own lines.

05

Total it

Tax where your state charges it, minus any deposit, with the balance due in bold.

06

Send it with the photos and the next-visit line

Email or text the invoice with the after photos and a note on when to book the maintenance wash. Invoices sent with proof get paid on the spot.

How pressure washing businesses get paid faster

Send the after photos with the invoice. The customer who paid for a house wash and wasn't home sees the result and the bill in the same message. It's also your record if a neighbor's downspout stain gets blamed on you.

Name the method on every line. “Soft wash” and “surface cleaner” are the words that separate a professional invoice from a rental-machine job, and they're the reason a customer pays your price without comparing it to the cheapest quote.

Price it before you bill it. If you're still setting your rates, how much to charge for pressure washing has the 2026 US rates per square foot for every surface on this invoice.

Sell the maintenance plan on the invoice. One line — “annual wash, next visit October 2027” — books next year while the siding is still clean. Recurring customers are the difference between a summer side-hustle and a business.

Mind the wash water. In the US the Clean Water Act and most city storm-water rules treat what runs off a driveway into a storm drain as a discharge — soaps, degreaser and paint chips included — so note on the invoice that wash water was contained or diverted to the lawn where the job needed it. Check your city's storm-water rules.

Tax depends on the state. In the US some states charge sales tax on exterior cleaning and many don't, and some treat commercial work differently from homes. Check your state's revenue department before you add a tax line.

Outside the US. The invoice itself has rules: in Australia a GST-registered business issues a tax invoice showing its ABN, in New Zealand a GST-registered business shows its GST number, and in the UK and EU a VAT-registered business shows its VAT number and the VAT charged. Confirm the details with your accountant.

Send it from Zarla and get paid online

A Word template is a fine way to start. The catch is everything after you hit send: chasing the payment, remembering who's paid, and typing the same customer and the same line items again next month.

If you build your pressure washing website with Zarla, the invoice tool is in the same dashboard. Pick the customer, add the job's lines, and send it. On a paid plan, with your Stripe account connected, the invoice carries a pay-now button: your customer pays online by card, and the invoice marks itself paid when the money arrives. Customers you've invoiced are saved, so next time is two taps.

Pressure washing invoices: common questions

What should a pressure washing invoice include?

Your business name, contact details and an insured line; the customer and the service address; an invoice number and date; one line per surface with its approximate size and the method used; add-ons on their own lines; the maintenance plan if there is one; tax where it applies; the balance due; how to pay; and the aftercare note.

Should I bill pressure washing by the square foot or by the job?

Price by the square foot or linear foot to work out the number, then show it on the invoice as one line per surface with the size — customers accept “driveway, 900 sq ft, $180” faster than a lump sum, and it makes next year's quote a two-minute job. A flat house-wash price is fine when you state the size.

Is a power washing invoice the same thing?

Yes. Power washing (hot water) and pressure washing (cold) are the same trade on an invoice; name the method per surface — soft wash, surface cleaner, hot water for oil stains — and the customer sees what they paid for.

When should I send a pressure washing invoice?

Before you leave, with the after photos. Most residential jobs are paid on the day; for property managers, HOAs and storefronts set 14 or 30 days and send it the same afternoon.

Do I need to put insurance on the invoice?

It isn't required, but one line — insured, certificate on request — answers the question every homeowner has when a stranger points a pressure washer at their house, and commercial customers will ask for the certificate anyway.

Is pressure washing taxable?

In the US it depends on your state: some tax cleaning services, many don't, and some treat commercial cleaning differently from residential. Check your state's revenue department, and ask your accountant if you work across a state line.

Is this pressure washing invoice template free?

Yes. The pressure washing invoice template on this page downloads free as a Word document and a PDF — no email address, no sign-up. Edit it in Word or any app that opens Word documents, or print the PDF and fill it in by hand.

Can customers pay a pressure washing invoice online?

Not from a Word file — your customer still has to pay you some other way. To take the payment on the invoice itself, send it from invoicing software. If your pressure washing website is on Zarla, the invoice tool is in the same dashboard: on a paid plan, with Stripe connected, each invoice carries a pay-now button and marks itself paid when the customer pays by card.

Send invoices from your own pressure washing website

Add your town and your business name, and Zarla builds the site from that one line — with invoicing in the same dashboard.
