Move from an old website without losing Google rankings

Moved (or about to move) from an old website to your new Zarla site? Done carelessly, the switch throws away the Google standing your old site earned. The Site Move tool carries it across instead.

Run the Site Move

  1. Click Get Found in the sidebar, then Site Move.
  2. Under Moving from an old website?, enter your old site's address and click Find my pages.
  3. Zarla reads your old site's pages and helps map each one to the matching page on your new site, so old links and Google results forward to the right places instead of dead-ending.

Why this matters

Google has already judged your old pages — some of them rank. When your domain switches to the new site, forwarding each old page to its replacement tells Google "same business, new home", and your standing transfers. Skipping this means old links break and Google starts you over from scratch.

The right order

  1. Build and polish your Zarla site.
  2. Run Site Move with your old address.
  3. Connect your domain to the Zarla site.
  4. Keep an eye on Search Terms over the following weeks.
