Move your website from the original Zarla

Have a website on the original Zarla, and want a new site to take its place? To move to the new Zarla, build your new site, publish it, then switch your domain to it. Building your new site leaves your original one exactly as it is.

Paying for a website on the original Zarla? Your offer appears when you publish: accept it, and you won't pay for both. If Zarla shows plans anywhere else, don't choose one.

1. Use your billing email address

Go to zarla.com and use the email address your plan on the original Zarla is billed to. That's how Zarla knows it's you when you publish. It's usually the one you log in to the original Zarla with, but not always.

  • Continue with Google: pick the Google account with that address.
  • Continue with Apple: choose Share My Email, if your Apple account uses that address.
  • Otherwise: use Continue with email and type that address.

You may see a note for customers from before the relaunch, with a link to the original Zarla's login. That link is for your original website. Stay on zarla.com to build your new one.

Already have a new site under a different email address? Keep it: step 3 says what to do if Zarla shows plans.

2. Build your new site

Tell Zarla about your business and it builds your new site. Then change anything you like by typing. See Editing your website.

3. Publish it

In the editor, click Publish at the top right, then Publish Live (you may see Go Live for both instead).

If you pay for a website on the original Zarla, Zarla then shows your offer: what you'll pay on the new Zarla, and for how long. Click Accept & publish.

If Zarla asks for your card next, add it: your first payment comes only when your paid time on the original Zarla ends. Once you accept the offer (and add your card, if Zarla asks for it), your plan on the original Zarla is set to end, so you don't pay for both. If Zarla suggests domain names after that, skip them and go to step 4.

  • The offer says to email us (such as when you have several websites on the original Zarla): email help@zarla.com from your billing email address on the original Zarla, and we'll set up your move with you.
  • No offer when you published? If Zarla shows plans instead, click Maybe later, then click Publish again in a moment. Still no offer? Don't choose a plan: email help@zarla.com from your billing email address on the original Zarla, and we'll take it from there.
  • Didn't finish the card page? Your plan on the original Zarla carries on as before until you do. If Zarla shows plans, don't choose one: go back to the editor and click Publish again.
  • Already on a plan on the new Zarla? A site with a plan gets no offer when you publish, so you may be paying for both. Email help@zarla.com from your billing email address on the original Zarla, and we'll set up your move with you.

4. Switch your domain to your new site

Publishing your new site doesn't move your domain by itself:
