When your credits run out, the AI pauses — but nothing is lost. Everything you've built stays as it is, and Zarla tells you why and shows your options right where you were working: in the editor's chat, or in the AI chats on Contacts, Get Found, Analytics, Social and Documents. As soon as you have credits again, ask again.
Your options
On the free plan — each site's 75 starter credits are one-time; they don't refill and don't move between sites. Upgrading to a paid plan gives you a monthly allowance (400 credits on Premium, 1,500 on Business) and unlocks publishing your site. The upgrade prompt appears right where you were working.
On Premium — three ways forward:
- Switch to Business — a much bigger monthly allowance (1,500 credits), available the moment you switch.
- Top up — buy a credit pack from the out-of-credits prompt, or from your site's card on the Billing page (Site settings → Plan → Manage all sites; on a phone, Site settings is under More in the bottom menu bar). Top-up credits are used after your monthly allowance and don't expire with the month.
- Wait for your refresh — your monthly allowance resets on your billing date.
On Business — top up from the out-of-credits prompt or from the Billing page, or wait for your refresh.
If the last payment for your plan didn't go through — you can't top up or change plans for that site until the payment is sorted, so the prompt offers Update my card instead: update your card and we'll try the payment again straight away. Or choose Email us instead (hello@zarla.com) and we'll help you sort it out.
Good to know
- Your website, edits, and everything you've built are untouched — credits only limit new AI work.
- You can keep doing everything that doesn't use AI: rearranging sections yourself, uploading photos, viewing leads, publishing what you have.
- Upgrading from the free plan takes effect immediately — your monthly allowance is available the moment payment goes through.
