Declines almost always come from the card's bank, not from Zarla — and they rarely tell us the exact reason. Here's what actually fixes it.
Quick fixes, in order
- Re-enter the card details. A single wrong digit in the number, expiry, or security code is the most common cause.
- Try another card. If a second card works, the issue is with the first card's bank — call the number on the back of the card and ask them to allow the charge.
- Check the card allows online and international charges. Some debit cards block these by default; the bank can switch them on.
- Check the balance/limit. Prepaid and low-limit cards often fail on annual amounts.
If the charge went through but the plan didn't activate
Occasionally a bank approves and then reverses a charge. If you were charged but your site still says it needs an upgrade, don't retry repeatedly — contact support and we'll sort it out directly.
Updating your saved card
For renewal failures on an existing subscription, update your card from Site settings → Plan → Manage all sites → — see Update your payment method.
