Your price book keeps every service you offer next to what you charge for it — so adding a line to an invoice is one tap instead of retyping a price you've quoted a hundred times.
It's private. Only you and your team see it. It never appears on your website, and a customer only sees a price when you put it in an invoice.
Find it
- Click Get Paid in the sidebar — you land on Invoices.
- Open the Price book tab.
Add a service and its price
- Click Add service and type the service's name.
- Under How you price it, pick one:
- One price — the same every time, like $165 for a gutter clean.
- A range — a low and a high, like $150–$250 for a driveway, when it depends on the job.
- From — a starting price, like "from $0.40 per sq ft".
- Under Per, choose what the price is for: a job, an hour, a square foot, a linear foot, a visit — or type your own (a window, a room, a tree).
- Optional: add Why this price — a private note to yourself ("below the guide's top end until I have reviews"). Customers never see it.
- Click Add service (on a phone, Save).
Not sure what to charge yet? Leave the price empty. The service shows Price not set, and you can fill it in later — or when you write the invoice.
Already listed your services on your website? Under Set a price for: the price book shows the ones it doesn't have yet. Tap one to add it.
Suggestions — and where each one comes from
Next to a service that has no price yet you may see a suggestion: a suggested figure, a short reason that gives the range it sits in, and a line saying exactly where it came from — the published source and the date it was read.
- Use this makes the suggestion your price.
- Edit lets you start from it and change it.
- Dismiss hides it. It stays hidden unless the numbers behind it change.
Once a service has your price, the suggestion shrinks to one line beside it, like Guide: $150–$250 per job · Dismiss. The source and the date it was read are a tap away — open the service with the pencil.
A suggestion never changes a price you've set — it only ever sits beside it. Like the rest of the price book, suggestions are never shown on your website. Suggestions only come from a published source, and each one says where it came from.
Start from the pricing guide (US businesses)
If your business is in the US, invoices in US dollars, and works in a trade we've published a pricing guide for (pressure washing, house cleaning, lawn mowing, junk removal, car detailing, handyman, pet sitting or plumbing), the price book offers to start from the pricing guide:
- Tap See the suggestions (or, in an empty price book, Start from the pricing guide — on a bigger screen the button names your trade).
- Tick the jobs you do. Each shows its published US range and whether it lands beside a service you already have, on one listed on your website, or as a new service.
- Tap Add 5 suggestions — the button counts the jobs you ticked. They arrive as suggestions — no service gets a price until you choose one.
The guide's figures are US prices, so the offer only appears for US businesses invoicing in US dollars. A price is never converted into another currency.
Suggest services
Starting from scratch? Suggest services lists services a business like yours usually offers. Pick the ones you do and they're added without a price — you set each one. It never suggests prices.
Use it on an invoice
On a New Invoice, tap Add from your price book and pick a service:
- Your price fills in as it is.
- A range leaves the price blank, with your range as a hint, so you pick the figure for this job.
- A suggestion fills in its figure, marked in amber — for example Price guide — not confirmed. Tap Keep $X as my price to make it yours in the price book. Typed your own figure for this job instead? The amber mark goes, and Save $X as my price keeps your figure.
- Typed a price for a service that doesn't have one yet? Tap Save $X as my price to keep it for next time.
The price book also shows when you last charged each service, from your recent invoices.
Currency
Your prices are in your invoice currency — the one in the Settings tab, or, if you haven't saved one, the currency of the country your website lists. A suggestion in a different currency is never shown.
