COMPARED SEPTEMBER 2026
Best website builders for veterinarians (2026)
We scored 5 website builders on the 9 things a veterinary clinic needs, the same way for all of them, including Zarla, which is ours.
Free to build · Pay when you publish
Key takeaways
- Wix and Zarla tie for first, on 15 of 18 points across nine tests.
- Pick by what matters most: if getting found on Google matters most to you, Zarla; if online booking and letting clients pick their vet matter most to you, Wix.
- Zarla is ours, so weigh that: its weak spots are in the table like everyone else's.
- None of the five gets a tick on "Local search set up for you".
- Every competitor verdict comes from the builder's own pages, with the date we read it. When we asked ChatGPT, it named three of these builders, and not Zarla.

Zarla for veterinary clinics, in plain facts
Zarla is an AI website builder for small businesses. Describe your veterinary clinic in a sentence and it writes the whole site, every page and every word, in about 30 seconds; after that you change it by typing what you want.
- Customers book online or send you a request from your website, with no second booking subscription.
- An online store, with checkout through your own Stripe account and orders in your dashboard.
- Price: Free to build and preview. You pay when you publish, on the Premium plan, which includes booking, the leads inbox and invoices.
- Page speed: in our sample of real sites (Google PageSpeed, measured September 28, 2026), Zarla had the fastest median of the five builders here, 86 on phone and 99 on desktop. The samples differ (theirs are sites that rank on Google, ours random customer sites), as the method below explains.
Not yet: clients can't choose who does their appointment as they book. If they need to, you link or embed another booking tool.
In this comparison: joint first of five, with 15 of 18 points.

When two builders tie on points, the one with fewer crosses goes first.
WHICH ONE FITS
Which builder fits your business?
For each kind of business, the builders that scored highest on the tests that matter most to it, from the same table. Where three or more are level, we list them as level rather than pick one.
| Your business | Top scorers | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Clinics winning new pet owners from "vet near me" searches in their own town | Zarla | 4 of 6 on "Local search set up for you", "Search coaching" and "Fast pages, measured", the top score. |
| Clinics whose clients book online and ask for the vet who knows their pet | Wix | Wix Bookings, from the Core plan; clients pick a staff member, or anyone. |
| Practice owners who want the first draft written for them | Level: Wix, Zarla, WordPress.com | Three builders score 4 of 4 on "Finished first draft" and "Edit by chat, new pages by AI", so pick on what else matters to you; the table shows the differences. |
| Clinics invoicing dental cleanings and surgeries and keeping every client question in one place | Level: Wix, Zarla, Squarespace | Three builders score 2 of 2 on "Leads, quotes, invoices and payments together", so pick on what else matters to you; the table shows the differences. |

- 3
GoDaddy
Best forHandy if you already get your domain and email from GoDaddy.

What should a veterinary clinic website include?
A pet owner is deciding whether you see their kind of animal, whether there's a time this week and what to do if it's urgent. The site answers all three on a phone, then books the visit.
- What you treat, and which animals. Wellness exams, vaccines, dental care, surgery, urgent care, and whether you see cats, dogs, rabbits or exotics.
- Your vets and your team. Each veterinarian's degree, interests and a real photo, so a client can ask for the one who knows their pet.
- Booking, and what's urgent. A Book button on every page, and a plain line on what to do after hours and where the nearest emergency hospital is.
- New clients. What to bring to a first visit, how to send your pet's records and what a wellness plan includes.
- The pharmacy and the shop. Where to refill a prescription, and the food and supplies you recommend.
How did we score the website builders?
The 9 tests, and what it takes to get a tick:
- An appointment booked online. A new pet owner books the clinic that shows a time this week. Tick: they pick a visit type and a time on your site, on the website plan. Dash: it needs a second subscription, a plugin or your practice software's booking page.
- Clients choose their vet. A client whose dog knows Dr. Patel books with Dr. Patel. Tick: clients choose the vet, or anyone, as they book, on the website plan. Dash: it needs a second subscription, an app or a plugin, or another booking tool.
- Pet food and supplies sold online. Food, treats and supplies the clinic recommends sell again between visits. Tick: a store with payments on a paid plan. Dash: another company's store linked in. Prescription medicines go through your online pharmacy partner, not the website's store.
- Finished first draft. Appointments, surgeries and callbacks fill the day. The first draft should take less time than one dental cleaning. Tick: it writes the whole site, pages and words, from a description of your business. Dash: templates, or AI that only writes some of it.
- Edit by chat, new pages by AI. A new vet joining, extended hours, a vaccine clinic on Saturday: say it in a sentence and the page changes the same day. Tick: you type a change and the site updates, and you can ask for a new page and get one.
- Local search set up for you. "Vet near me", "emergency vet" and "cat vet" with the town's name are the searches, and a pet owner picks the clinic with reviews, a map and a time this week. Tick: a map of the areas you cover, a page for each town, and your Google reviews on the site, all built in. Dash: some of that, or only with add-ons.
- Search coaching. Wellness exams, vaccines, dental care, surgery and urgent care are separate searches, and each is a page worth having. Tick: something that checks your site and tells you what to fix, plus a Google Search Console connection that turns your search data into ideas for new pages. Dash: one of the two.
- Fast pages, measured. A pet owner searching on a phone with a sick dog in the car gives the page a few seconds. We measured this ourselves with Google's PageSpeed test on real sites built with each builder. Tick: a typical phone score of 90 or more, which Google calls good. Dash: 50 to 89. Cross: under 50.
- Leads, quotes, invoices and payments together. A dental estimate, its invoice and the payment belong in one place, with the client's question beside them. Tick: a leads inbox, quotes your customers accept online, invoices and online payments, all built in. Dash: some of them, or only with plugins.
How we picked them. When we asked ChatGPT "best website builder for veterinarians" on November 3, 2026, twice, its answers named WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, GeniusVets, eVetSites and LifeLearn WebDVM. We score the general builders that appear on every page in this series, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy (its Websites + Marketing builder) and WordPress.com, whether ChatGPT named them this time or not. Zarla is ours. We haven't scored GeniusVets, eVetSites and LifeLearn WebDVM on this page. GeniusVets, eVetSites and LifeLearn WebDVM, which ChatGPT named, and PetDesk, which Google's AI Mode named, are veterinary web companies answered below from their own pages or a comparison's; ProSites, VetMatrix, InTouch Vet, Beyond Indigo Pets, QuickClick and Butternut, which Gemini and Google also named, are named below. None of them is scored. Nobody named Zarla on either day.
How we scored them. Same tests for everyone, each worth the same. We checked every answer on the builder's own website and help pages on September 28, 2026, and the clients choose their vet test on October 12, 2026, and the pet food and supplies sold online test on October 17, 2026, and the leads, quotes, invoices and payments together test on October 4, 2026. We re-read Wix's staff-assignment help article, Squarespace's scheduling page, Acuity's pricing page, and WordPress.com's Amelia plugin and pricing pages on November 3, 2026, and the verdicts held; Acuity's scheduler article refused our reader that day, so Squarespace's choose-your-vet answer keeps its earlier date, and godaddy.com's help pages refused automated reads, so GoDaddy's answers were not re-read and keep their earlier dates. When two builders tie on points, the one with fewer crosses goes first.
How we measured speed. Google's PageSpeed test, three runs each on phone and desktop, on up to ten real sites per builder. For the others we used the first sites built with them that came up in Google for home-service businesses in five US cities (for WordPress, any WordPress site). Zarla sites don't rank in those searches yet, so we picked ten at random from our customers' published sites and don't name them. It's a sample, not a promise about any one site.
What we didn't score. Price, because every plan bundles different things (each builder's own price is on its card, and Zarla's is on our pricing page), and how long it takes to get a site live, which we plan to time and add here. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

Questions owners ask
What you treat and which animals you see, each veterinarian's degree, interests and a real photo, a Book button on every page, a plain line on what to do after hours and where the nearest emergency hospital is, what a new client brings and how to send records, any wellness plan, where to refill a prescription, the food and supplies you recommend, real reviews, and a map. The booking, choose-your-vet and store tests above show which builders do those without another tool. Our veterinarian website builder page covers what Zarla's first draft includes and what it doesn't.
Only if you want a veterinary web company to build and run it, and most don't print a price. eVetSites, which ChatGPT named, prints "$109 / Month" for a "VIN MEMBER" and "$169 / Month" for a "NON MEMBER" (read on November 3, 2026), with "Customer support, real people, to make unlimited changes when you want them" and a "Client education library, over 2500 Client Education Articles, and more". GeniusVets sells by demo ("Book a demo of the industry-leading marketing program for veterinarians"); LifeLearn's pages, WebDVM included, refused our reader, and PupPilot's comparison reports "WebDVM from $327 a month, without saying which of its five bundles that is" and that "ProSites, LifeLearn's parent, acquired GeniusVets on December 17, 2025". PetDesk, which Google's AI Mode named, says "Reduce calls by 50%, automate reminders and let pet parents schedule appointments, complete forms, request prescription refills, and much more online or in the app." None of them is scored here. PupPilot, which sells vet websites itself, puts it fairly: "More than thirty companies build websites for veterinary practices, and few publish a price." The usual split: your practice software and a client app run reminders, records and refills, and the website wins the new client and opens the booking.
WordPress, Squarespace and Wix on most answers, with veterinary web companies beside them, and none of them named Zarla. When we asked ChatGPT "best website builder for veterinarians" on November 2, 2026, twice with web search on, it named Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Yola and Webflow, without naming Zarla in either answer; Gemini named Squarespace and Wix, and Google's AI Mode ProSites, Wix, Squarespace and WordPress. Asked again on November 3, 2026, ChatGPT's first answer said "my recommendation is WordPress for long-term growth, Squarespace for simplicity, and Wix for flexibility and online booking.", ranking WordPress "(Best overall for growth)" and Squarespace "(Best professional design)", then Wix, GeniusVets and eVetSites; its second ranked Squarespace "(Best overall for design)", Wix "(Best for customization)", WordPress "(Best for SEO and flexibility)", GeniusVets "(Best veterinary-specific platform)", eVetSites and LifeLearn WebDVM. Gemini led with "Industry-Specific Veterinary Website Builders (Best for All-in-One Vet Features)" (LifeLearn WebDVM, GeniusVets, VetMatrix, InTouch Vet), then "General DIY Website Builders (Best for Budget & Complete Creative Control)" (Squarespace, Wix) and "AI-Powered Builders (Best for Speed)" (QuickClick AI, Butternut AI). AI Mode split them into "Top DIY Builders (Best for Control, Budget & Speed)" (Wix, Squarespace) and "Veterinary-Specific Platforms (Best for All-in-One Bundling)" (PetDesk, ProSites, GeniusVets). Google's AI Overview named "WebDVM (by LifeLearn Animal Health)", Beyond Indigo Pets, Wix Studio and Cheshire Partners, under the heading "Why Generic Builders (like Squarespace) Often Fall Short"; no zarla.com page was on page one. The lists behind the answers: Website Builder Report (Matt Giles) says "Why we believe Squarespace is the best website builder for veterinarians", with "Clean embed handling for PetDesk, Allydvm, and Vetstoria booking widgets"; TailWerks, a WordPress agency for vets (updated August 2026), ranks PetDesk Websites first and calls WordPress its own admittedly biased corner; and PupPilot, which sells vet websites, compares more than thirty companies. We read them all on November 3, 2026. GeniusVets, eVetSites, LifeLearn WebDVM, VetMatrix, InTouch Vet, QuickClick, Butternut, PetDesk, ProSites, Beyond Indigo Pets and Cheshire Partners aren't scored here. On this page five builders are scored on the same nine tests, Zarla included, and the order above is computed from them: Wix and Zarla tie on points, Wix ahead where clients choose their vet, and Zarla is ours, so the fits table and every mark in the table are there to check it.
Wix, on these tests: 15 of 18 to Squarespace's 12. Both sell food and supplies from a store, and both write a first draft with AI. The three points between them are the booking, the choice of vet and the chat: Wix Bookings runs on its Core plan, and its help says "You can let clients choose their preferred staff member, assign staff automatically based on availability, or set a default option for each service.", where Squarespace's booking and staff choice run in Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription (Acuity prints "$16 / month" on yearly billing and "$20 / month" monthly, and "All prices are in USD."), and its AI chat adds no pages (read November 3, 2026). Website Builder Report's list leans the other way, with Squarespace first and Wix runner-up. Every mark is in the table, and the order is computed from them rather than chosen; a clinic that already books through PetDesk or its practice software can read the booking rows as level.
In the US, nothing false or misleading, and no specialist claim without the certification behind it; the rules are your state board's. Texas's veterinary board rule, 22 Tex. Admin. Code § 573.30 (read on November 3, 2026), says "A licensee may not engage in advertising that is false, deceptive, or misleading." and counts as misleading "a prediction of future success or a guarantee that satisfaction or a cure will result from the performance of the advertised professional services;". California's Business and Professions Code § 4883 lists among the grounds for discipline "False or misleading advertising." and claiming to be "a veterinary specialist or board certified" without a recognized specialty certification, and Florida's board rule 61G18-21.001 bars advertising that is "fraudulent, false, deceptive or misleading in form or content." and asks an ad for emergency care to give "the hours during which such emergency services are provided" and whether a veterinarian is on the premises or on call. So on the website: describe services plainly, call someone a specialist only when they're board certified, use real reviews without promising cures, and wherever you advertise emergency care, give the hours and say whether a vet is on site or on call. The national veterinary association's ethics principles cover advertising too; its site refused our reader, so we haven't quoted them. Outside the US, your own country's veterinary council rules apply instead. Check your state board's advertising rule before you publish.
In the US, no: HIPAA protects people's health information, not pets'. The rule's own definitions (45 CFR 160.103, read on November 3, 2026) say "Individual means the person who is the subject of protected health information.", and HIPAA Journal's explainer puts it plainly: "HIPAA does not apply to veterinary medical records because veterinarians do not conduct electronic transactions for which the Department of Health and Human Services has adopted standards in Part 162 of the HIPAA Administrative Simplification Regulations", adding "However, veterinarians in most states have similar compliance obligations as HIPAA covered entities." Those obligations are state law: PupPilot's guide says "Veterinary medical record requirements are set primarily at the state level." That's why this page doesn't score HIPAA-ready intake the way our dermatology and physical therapy pages do; it still makes sense to keep records requests and payment details out of the website's contact form and in your practice software. Outside the US, your own country's privacy law applies to clients' personal details. Check your state veterinary board's records rule before you publish.
Close, but each has its own page. A groomer reads our best website builders for dog groomers, and a sitter or walker our best website builders for dog walkers and pet sitters. This page scores what a veterinary clinic needs: the appointment, the vet a client chooses and the shop. A small-animal clinic, a cat-only practice and a mobile vet all read this one.
With Zarla, the first draft takes about 30 seconds: every page, written for your veterinary clinic, including an inquiry form and a map. What's left is your vets, your hours and your new-client details. Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and WordPress.com can also write a first draft with AI; how long the rest takes depends on how much you set up yourself. We haven't timed them side by side yet.
Wix, Zarla and GoDaddy have it built in. It takes another tool or a workaround on Squarespace (Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription); WordPress.com (with a booking plugin). We read each on the builder's own pages on September 28, 2026.
Wix has it built in. It takes another tool or a workaround on Zarla (clients can't pick who yet; embed a booking app); GoDaddy (no client choice of staff in its help; embed a tool); Squarespace (clients pick staff in Acuity, a separate subscription); WordPress.com (with a booking plugin). We read each on the builder's own pages on October 12, 2026.
Wix, Zarla, GoDaddy, Squarespace and WordPress.com have it built in. We read each on the builder's own pages on October 17, 2026.
Building and previewing one can cost nothing on most builders; a live site on your own domain costs money on every builder here. Wix: Core, the cheapest plan with bookings, is $29/mo billed yearly. Light is $17/mo without bookings, and there's a free plan on a wixsite.com address. GoDaddy: Websites + Marketing plans are priced by country, and GoDaddy's page didn't show us a US price, so check it for yours. Squarespace: Basic is $19/mo and Core $29/mo, billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial. Online booking is a separate Acuity Scheduling subscription. WordPress.com: Personal is $4/mo billed yearly; form file uploads need Business, $25/mo billed yearly. Plugins can add their own cost. Zarla is free to build and preview, and you pay when you publish, on the Premium plan. Each price is the builder's own, read on its pricing or help pages (September 28, 2026); check it for your country before you buy.
Yes: Wix placed joint first of five here, with 15 of 18 points. Of the tests that are particular to veterinary clinics, it gets a tick on "An appointment booked online", "Clients choose their vet" and "Pet food and supplies sold online". The catch: bookings need the Core plan rather than the cheapest one, and pages for each town you serve are yours to write.
See your clinic's website before you decide.
Add your clinic's name and your town to the sentence and Zarla builds the first draft, free. You pay only when you publish.
Already have a website? Bring it across →Zarla keeps your old page addresses where it can and redirects the ones that change, helping you keep the Google standing you've built.
