THE LIST

The best website builders for cleaning businesses, ranked

  1. 1

    Zarla

    Best for

Owners who care most about getting found on Google.

    What it costs

Free to build and preview. You pay when you publish, on the Premium plan, which includes booking, the leads inbox and invoices.

    Features
    • Describe your business in a sentence and Zarla writes a complete first draft in about 30 seconds
    • A service-area map and, when you list your towns, a page for each one
    • Type changes in plain words, or ask for a new page, and the site updates
    The Catch

Customers can't book a weekly or fortnightly clean themselves yet, so each visit is booked on its own. It's also newer than the big names.

  2. 2

    Wix

    Best for

A strong all-rounder if you like building and fine-tuning the site yourself.

    What it costs

Core, the cheapest plan with bookings, is $29/mo billed yearly. Light is $17/mo without bookings, and there's a free plan on a wixsite.com address. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • An AI builder that writes your pages from a description
    • Aria, an AI agent in the Harmony editor that edits the site and adds pages by chat
    • Wix Bookings with online payments and deposits
    The Catch

Customers can't set up a repeat clean themselves; you do it for them. And booking only comes with the Core plan, not the cheapest one.

  3. 3

    Squarespace

    Best for

Good if polished design matters most and you don't mind adding a separate booking tool.

    What it costs

Basic is $19/mo and Core $29/mo, billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial. Online booking is a separate Acuity Scheduling subscription. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • Blueprint AI writes a multi-page starting site
    • Design-led templates
    • Invoices and online payments on every plan
    The Catch

Online booking is a second subscription, Acuity Scheduling, on top of the website plan, and it's managed in a different place.

  4. 4

    WordPress.com

    Best for

For owners who want full control and don't mind choosing and looking after plugins.

    What it costs

Personal is $4/mo billed yearly (renews at $5/mo); the AI assistant and form file uploads come with Business, $25/mo billed yearly (renews at $28/mo). Plugins can add their own cost. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • An AI website builder on paid plans
    • An AI assistant that edits and creates pages, on the Business plan
    • Thousands of plugins
    The Catch

Booking, reviews and invoices each come from a plugin you choose, may pay for and keep updated, so the setup and upkeep are on you. The AI assistant that builds pages needs the Business plan.

  5. 5

    GoDaddy

    Best for

Handy if you already get your domain and email from GoDaddy.

    What it costs

Websites + Marketing plans are priced by country, and GoDaddy's page didn't show us a US price, so check it for yours. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • Airo writes a first website for your business in Websites + Marketing
    • Online appointments with a deposit
    • Photo attachments on the contact form
    The Catch

Editing by chat, and asking the AI for new pages later, happen in Airo AI Builder, a separate GoDaddy product with its own credits; in Websites + Marketing, pages for each town you serve are yours to write.

  6. 6

    BookingKoala

    Best for

Owners who care most about online booking, including repeat cleans.

    What it costs

Starter is $27/mo after a 14-day free trial. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • Booking forms built for home services, with frequencies customers choose
    • Quotes you create and send
    • Scheduling for a team, with provider payouts
    The Catch

It's booking software first: you build the site from a theme yourself, with no AI help, and it shows its own reviews rather than your Google ones.

What a cleaning business website needs

A cleaning business sells trust and routine: people hand you a key, then want the same day every week. Whatever you build it with, the site should answer the questions a homeowner asks before letting a stranger in.

  • A price to start from. A starting price per home size or per visit, so people can tell you're in their range before they ask for a quote, and the wrong jobs filter themselves out.
  • Proof you're safe to let in. Insurance, bonding and background checks for your cleaners, said plainly, plus reviews that mention reliability rather than just "great job".
  • The regular options. Weekly, every two weeks and monthly, with any discount for regulars, and what a first deep clean costs compared with a regular visit.
  • What's included, and what isn't. A checklist per room, and the extras (inside the oven, the fridge, windows, laundry) with their prices, so nobody is surprised on the day.
  • The towns you clean in. A page for each town or suburb, so a search for house cleaning in that town has somewhere to land.

The tests, and how we scored them

The 8 tests, and what it takes to get a tick:

  • Book or ask for a quote online. Someone who can book a clean or ask for a price at 10pm won't ring another cleaner in the morning. Tick: it comes with the website plan, not a second subscription.
  • Customers book repeat cleans. Regulars are what keep a cleaning business going. Tick: customers choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly as they book. Dash: you can set up the repeats for them.
  • Finished first draft. You're cleaning houses all day. Nobody wants to spend Sunday night building a website. Tick: it writes the whole site, pages and words, from a description of your business. Dash: templates, or AI that only writes some of it.
  • Edit by chat, new pages by AI. Prices, areas and holiday hours change. Updating them should take a sentence, not an afternoon. Tick: you type a change and the site updates, and you can ask for a new page and get one.
  • Local search set up for you. People search for a cleaner in their own suburb, and most never look past the first few results. Tick: a map of the areas you cover, a page for each town, and your Google reviews on the site, all built in. Dash: some of that, or only with add-ons.
  • Search coaching. "Move out cleaning", "Airbnb cleaning" and "office cleaning" are all separate searches. You want to know which ones already bring people to you. Tick: something that checks your site and tells you what to fix, plus a Google Search Console connection that turns your search data into ideas for new pages. Dash: one of the two.
  • Fast pages, measured. Most people look for a cleaner on their phone, usually in a spare minute. We measured this ourselves with Google's PageSpeed test on real sites built with each builder. Tick: a typical phone score of 90 or more, which Google calls good. Dash: 50 to 89. Cross: under 50.
  • Leads, invoices and payments together. Once you've got a round of regulars, quotes, invoices and payments pile up fast. Tick: a leads inbox, invoices and online payments, all built in. Dash: some of them, or only with plugins.

How we picked them. Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy (its Websites + Marketing builder) and WordPress.com are the four ChatGPT names most often for this question. BookingKoala showed up beside them when we asked. Zarla is ours.

How we scored them. Same tests for everyone, each worth the same. We checked every answer on the builder's own website and help pages on September 28, 2026. When two builders tie on points, the one with fewer crosses goes first.

How we measured speed. Google's PageSpeed test, three runs each on phone and desktop, on up to ten real sites per builder. For the others we used the first sites built with them that came up in Google for home-service businesses in five US cities (for WordPress, any WordPress site; for BookingKoala, a search for sites "powered by BookingKoala", which turned up some outside the US). Zarla sites don't rank in those searches yet, so we picked ten at random from our customers' published sites and don't name them. It's a sample, not a promise about any one site.

What we didn't score. Price, because every plan bundles different things (each builder's own price is on its card, and Zarla's is on our pricing page), and how long it takes to get a site live, which we plan to time and add here. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

Other trades. The same tests for junk removal companies, car detailing businesses, pressure washing businesses, plumbers, pet sitters and dog walkers, handyman businesses.

Questions owners ask

Can I build a cleaning business website for free?

You can build for free on most of them, but a site on your own domain costs money everywhere. Wix has a free plan on a wixsite.com address; bookings start on Core at $29/mo billed yearly. Squarespace and BookingKoala have 14-day free trials. Zarla is free to build and preview, and you pay when you publish, on the Premium plan.

Which website builder is best for recurring house cleaning?

BookingKoala lets customers pick how often as they book, and so does Squarespace through Acuity Scheduling, a separate subscription. Wix lets you set up a repeating series for a customer; GoDaddy repeats only group events. Zarla books one clean at a time today.

What should a cleaning business website have?

Your services and the towns you clean in, a quote or booking form, starting prices if you publish them, proof such as reviews and insurance, and a call button that works on a phone. Our guide to how cleaning companies get found on Google covers the rest, and how much to charge for house cleaning helps with prices.
