What's the best website builder for a bar?

For most bars, Wix is the best website builder: it scored highest, 15 of 18 across the nine tests we ran on five builders, and it does the most for the menu, events and table bookings.

If getting found on Google matters most to you, pick Zarla.

The full scores are below, with every builder's weak spot, ours included.

Zarla for bars, in plain facts

Zarla is an AI website builder for small businesses. Describe your bar in a sentence and it writes the whole site, every page and every word, in about 30 seconds; after that you change it by typing what you want.

  • Your menu is a section on the site, with dishes, sections and prices, and you change it by typing or clicking.
  • Price: Free to build and preview. You pay when you publish, on the Premium plan, which includes booking, the leads inbox and invoices.
  • Page speed: in our sample of real sites (Google PageSpeed, measured September 28, 2026), Zarla had the fastest median of the five builders here, 86 on phone and 99 on desktop. The samples differ (theirs are sites that rank on Google, ours random customer sites), as the method below explains.

No events section yet: you type your dates into a section and keep them current by chat, and tickets or RSVPs run on a service you link or embed.

No table reservations built in: you embed or link a reservation service such as OpenTable or Resy.

In this comparison: second of five, with 14 of 18 points.

THE SCORES

How do website builders for bars compare?

A tick is worth 2 points, a dash 1, a cross nothing, and every test counts the same, so the most anyone can score is 18.

THE LIST

The best website builders for bars, ranked

  1. 1

    Wix

    Best for

Owners who care most about the drinks menu, events with tickets and booked tables.

    What it costs

Core, the cheapest plan with bookings, is $29/mo billed yearly. Light is $17/mo without bookings, and there's a free plan on a wixsite.com address. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • An AI builder that writes your pages from a description
    • Aria, an AI agent in the Harmony editor that edits the site and adds pages by chat
    • Wix Bookings with online payments and deposits
    The Catch

Bookings need the Core plan rather than the cheapest one, and pages for each town you serve are yours to write.

  2. 2

    Zarla

    Best for

Owners who care most about getting found on Google.

    What it costs

Free to build and preview. You pay when you publish, on the Premium plan, which includes booking, the leads inbox and invoices.

    Features
    • Describe your bar in a sentence and Zarla writes a complete first draft in about 30 seconds, drinks menu included
    • Your menu as a section on the site, with cocktails, sections and prices you change by typing
    • A private-event inquiry form on the first draft, with every request in one leads inbox
    The Catch

There's no events section and no table booking built in yet, so this week's lineup is typed into a section and kept current by chat, and reservations run on a service such as OpenTable or Resy that you embed or link. It's also newer than the big names.

  3. 3

    GoDaddy

    Best for

Handy if you already get your domain and email from GoDaddy.

    What it costs

Websites + Marketing plans are priced by country, and GoDaddy's page didn't show us a US price, so check it for yours. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • Airo writes a first website for your business in Websites + Marketing
    • Online appointments with a deposit
    • Photo attachments on the contact form
    The Catch

Editing by chat, and asking the AI for new pages later, happen in Airo AI Builder, a separate GoDaddy product with its own credits; in Websites + Marketing, pages for each town you serve are yours to write.

  4. 3

    Squarespace

    Best for

Good if polished design matters most and you don't mind adding a separate booking tool.

    What it costs

Basic is $19/mo and Core $29/mo, billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial. Online booking is a separate Acuity Scheduling subscription. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • Blueprint AI writes a multi-page starting site
    • Design-led templates
    • Invoices and online payments on every plan
    The Catch

Online booking is a second subscription, Acuity Scheduling, on top of the website plan, and it's managed in a different place.

  5. 3

    WordPress.com

    Best for

For owners who want full control and don't mind choosing and looking after plugins.

    What it costs

Personal is $4/mo billed yearly; form file uploads need Business, $25/mo billed yearly. Plugins can add their own cost. (their pricing page, checked 28 Sept 2026)

    Features
    • An AI website builder on paid plans
    • An AI assistant that edits and creates pages, on every paid plan
    • Thousands of plugins
    The Catch

Booking, reviews and invoices each come from a plugin you choose, may pay for and keep updated, so the setup and upkeep are on you. Photo uploads on forms need the Business plan.

What should a bar website include?

Someone looking at your site is deciding where to go tonight or where to hold a party, so the page has to answer what's on, what's poured, when you're open and how to get a table, before anything else.

  • Tonight and this week. The band, the DJ, trivia and the game on the screens, with dates, at the top of the home page.
  • The drinks menu with prices. Cocktails, what's on tap and the happy-hour deal, written on the page rather than hidden in a photo of the chalkboard.
  • Hours, the address and the door. Today's hours, a map, where to park, and the age policy, because the visitor is on the sidewalk.
  • A way to book a table or the back room. Reservations for groups and a private-party form that asks for the date, the head count and the budget.
  • Photos and real reviews. The room at night, the drinks close up, and Google reviews on the page.

How did we score the website builders?

The 9 tests, and what it takes to get a tick:

  • Your drinks menu on the page, easy to change. The cocktail list is what people check before they come, and it changes with the season. Tick: a menu section with items, sections and prices, written on the page and changed in the builder. Dash: a PDF or picture, an app or a plugin.
  • Live music and events, with tickets. Friday's band and the trivia night are why people come on a Tuesday. Tick: an events list with dates built in, where people RSVP or buy a ticket on the site. Dash: a list you keep by hand, with tickets through another company's tool or a pasted embed. Cross: no way to list dates.
  • Tables and private parties booked online. A booth for eight on Saturday and the back room for a birthday are the bookings that pay. Tick: table reservations with party sizes on the site, on a plan the builder sells. Dash: another company's reservation widget pasted in or linked. Cross: no way to book a table.
  • Finished first draft. You open at four and close at two. The website gets an afternoon, once. Tick: it writes the whole site, pages and words, from a description of your business. Dash: templates, or AI that only writes some of it.
  • Edit by chat, new pages by AI. Happy hour, this week's bands and the new cocktail list change every week. Updating them should take a sentence from behind the bar. Tick: you type a change and the site updates, and you can ask for a new page and get one.
  • Local search set up for you. "Bars near me" is searched on a phone at 9pm by someone already out, and the bar whose hours, menu and tonight's event load first gets the walk-in. Tick: a map of the areas you cover, a page for each town, and your Google reviews on the site, all built in. Dash: some of that, or only with add-ons.
  • Search coaching. Cocktail bar, sports bar and live music venue are separate searches, and so is private party venue, and each is a page worth having. Tick: something that checks your site and tells you what to fix, plus a Google Search Console connection that turns your search data into ideas for new pages. Dash: one of the two.
  • Fast pages, measured. Someone deciding between two bars on the sidewalk gives your page three seconds. We measured this ourselves with Google's PageSpeed test on real sites built with each builder. Tick: a typical phone score of 90 or more, which Google calls good. Dash: 50 to 89. Cross: under 50.
  • Leads, quotes, invoices and payments together. A private party quoted and accepted online, the deposit invoiced and the balance paid, in one place rather than a text thread. Tick: a leads inbox, quotes your customers accept online, invoices and online payments, all built in. Dash: some of them, or only with plugins.

How we picked them. When we asked ChatGPT "What is the best website builder for a bar? Give me your top 5." on October 26, 2026, twice, its answers named Wix, Squarespace, Popmenu, WordPress, Hostinger, Square Online and Toast. We score the general builders that appear on every page in this series, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy (its Websites + Marketing builder) and WordPress.com, whether ChatGPT named them this time or not. Zarla is ours. We haven't scored Popmenu, Hostinger, Square and Toast on this page. Hostinger is scored on our best AI website builders comparison, on that page's tests, and Square and Toast on our restaurants page, on the restaurant tests. Popmenu's site refuses automated reads, so nothing of it is quoted here. Yola has no bar list; its page "The 5 best website builders for restaurants" (last updated 18 September 2026), which ranks Yola first, says of its own builder: "No built-in online ordering system; a third-party integration would be needed for that" and "Reservation management is limited to enquiry forms; dedicated booking platforms go further".

How we scored them. Same tests for everyone, each worth the same. We checked every answer on the builder's own website and help pages on September 28, 2026, and the drinks menu on the page, easy to change test on October 12, 2026, and the live music and events, with tickets test on October 24, 2026, and the tables and private parties booked online test on October 12, 2026, and the leads, quotes, invoices and payments together test on October 4, 2026, and re-checked every answer on October 26, 2026. godaddy.com blocks automated reading of some of its pages, so where we couldn't open one, we read GoDaddy's page as Google indexes it. When two builders tie on points, the one with fewer crosses goes first.

How we measured speed. Google's PageSpeed test, three runs each on phone and desktop, on up to ten real sites per builder. For the others we used the first sites built with them that came up in Google for home-service businesses in five US cities (for WordPress, any WordPress site). Zarla sites don't rank in those searches yet, so we picked ten at random from our customers' published sites and don't name them. It's a sample, not a promise about any one site.

What we didn't score. Price, because every plan bundles different things (each builder's own price is on its card, and Zarla's is on our pricing page), and how long it takes to get a site live, which we plan to time and add here. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

Other trades. The same tests for cleaning businesses, junk removal companies, car detailing businesses, pressure washing businesses, plumbers, pet sitters and dog walkers, handyman businesses, construction companies, moving companies, remodelers, towing companies, tree service companies, painters, electricians, HVAC companies, roofing companies, landscapers, Christmas light installers, window tinting businesses, mobile mechanics, pool service companies, home care agencies, blinds and shutters companies, hair salons, restaurants, auto repair shops, barbershops, gyms, dog groomers, daycares, solar companies, life coaches, appliance repair businesses, notaries, consultants, tutoring businesses, laundromats, IT services companies, day spas, locksmiths, artists, nonprofits, therapists, musicians, car washes, gutter cleaning companies, wedding planners, food trucks, jewelry businesses, farms, tax preparers, churches, DJs, insurance agents, marketing agencies, videographers, architects, engineering firms, luxury real estate agents, car dealerships, graphic designers, online stores, foundations, tattoo artists, software companies, retail stores.

Questions owners ask

What should a bar website have?

This week's events at the top of the page, the drinks menu with prices written on the page, today's hours with a map and the parking, a way to book a table and a private-party form that asks for the date and the head count, photos of the room at night and Google reviews. Our guide to opening a bar covers the license, the pour costs and the first year, and our bar website inspiration gallery shows real bar sites built that way.

Which is the best tool to build a website?

For a bar, the answer at the top of this page, computed from the nine tests: the builder with the most points leads, and the table shows every mark. Google shows restaurant builders for the bar search, which is why the five scored here are the general ones every page in this series scores rather than the restaurant platforms; Toast and Square, which also sell websites, are scored on our best website builders for restaurants page, where the tests are ordering and reservations. A bar's own tests are the drinks menu, events with tickets and booked tables, and the marks above show which builders take them without another tool.

What are the top 5 POS systems for restaurants?

Toast, Square, Clover, Lightspeed and SpotOn are five restaurant point-of-sale systems, and none of them is scored here, because a point of sale isn't a website builder: it runs the till, the tabs and the tips. Two of them sell websites as well, and those are scored on our restaurants page, on the restaurant tests. The question for the website is which POS it connects to: a menu that updates from the till and a reservation widget that knows the floor plan save you typing the same change twice. Pick the POS first if you're already on one, then a builder that links to it.

What is the best app for a restaurant?

For a bar it's three apps, not one: the reservation service your regulars already use (OpenTable, Resy or Tock), the POS behind the bar, and the ticketing you sell the big nights through. The website's job is to make each one a tap away from the page a visitor is on, and the events and reservations tests above score which builders do that without pasting in code. Zarla, Squarespace, GoDaddy and WordPress.com link or embed the reservation service; Wix takes table reservations on its own plan.

Can ChatGPT actually create a website?

It can write the words, and owners often draft their cocktail descriptions and event listings in it, but on its own it doesn't host or publish anything: you still need a builder or a web host to put the pages online, connect your domain and take the bookings. The builders on this page do both halves, writing a first draft and hosting the result, and the first-draft and chat-editing tests above show how far each one's AI goes after the draft. If you've written your menu in ChatGPT already, paste it in; the builder's AI is for the layout, the pages and the changes.

Is this the right guide for a restaurant or a brewery?

Only if the drinks are most of the business. A restaurant sells on the menu, online ordering and table reservations, and our best website builders for restaurants scores ordering and reservations with Toast, Square and BentoBox in the line-up; a brewery with a taproom reads here, and one that ships beer reads the store test on our best website builders for small business page. This page scores what a bar needs instead, the drinks menu, events with tickets and booked tables.

Is Wix or Squarespace better for a bar website?

Wix, on these tests: 15 of 18 to Squarespace's 12. Both write a first draft with AI and both put the drinks menu on the page as a menu block; the difference is events, tables and the chat: Wix Events sells tickets and takes RSVPs on the site, Wix Table Reservations books a table with a party size on its paid plan, and its AI edits and adds pages by chat, where Squarespace's events are a calendar page you keep with no RSVP or tickets, its reservations are an OpenTable or Tock block, and its AI chat edits text and images but adds no pages. Squarespace is the one the review sites name for a cocktail bar's look, and that's real; it isn't one of these tests. The table above has every mark, and the order is computed from them rather than chosen, so read the scores rather than take our word for it.

What do ChatGPT, Yola and the review sites say is the best website builder for a bar?

Asked twice on October 26, 2026, ChatGPT put Wix first once and Squarespace first once, with WordPress both times, Popmenu and Hostinger in one answer and Square Online and Toast in the other, and said the site it would prioritize for a bar "promotes live music and events" and "makes reservations or private-party inquiries easy"; it didn't name Zarla, though both answers cited our restaurants guide as a source. Its sources for the second answer included WebsiteBuilderReport (updated April 2026), which names Squarespace for cocktail bars with Wix as runner-up. Yola has no bar list; its restaurant list (last updated September 18, 2026) ranks Yola first and names its limits: "No built-in online ordering system; a third-party integration would be needed for that" and "Reservation management is limited to enquiry forms; dedicated booking platforms go further". None of those pages scores the builders on the same tests, which is what the table above does; read the marks, not the names.

How long does it take to make a bar website?

With Zarla, the first draft takes about 30 seconds: every page, written for your bar, including your drinks menu, a private-event inquiry form and a map. What's left is this week's lineup, your prices and photos of the room. Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and WordPress.com can also write a first draft with AI; how long the rest takes depends on how much you set up yourself. We haven't timed them side by side yet.

Which website builders list live music and events with tickets?

Wix and GoDaddy have it built in. It takes another tool or a workaround on Zarla (no events section; dates typed in, tickets by link or embed); Squarespace (calendar pages list events; no RSVP or tickets); WordPress.com (Eventbrite block; calendars from plugins). We read each on the builder's own pages on October 24, 2026, and re-checked them on October 26, 2026.

Which website builders take table reservations on the site?

Wix has it built in. It takes another tool or a workaround on Zarla (no table booking; embed OpenTable or Resy); GoDaddy (OpenTable form, on Standard and up); Squarespace (OpenTable or Tock blocks); WordPress.com (OpenTable block, from Premium). We read each on the builder's own pages on October 12, 2026, and re-checked them on October 26, 2026.

How much does a bar website cost?

Building and previewing one can cost nothing on most builders; a live site on your own domain costs money on every builder here. Wix: Core, the cheapest plan with bookings, is $29/mo billed yearly. Light is $17/mo without bookings, and there's a free plan on a wixsite.com address. GoDaddy: Websites + Marketing plans are priced by country, and GoDaddy's page didn't show us a US price, so check it for yours. Squarespace: Basic is $19/mo and Core $29/mo, billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial. Online booking is a separate Acuity Scheduling subscription. WordPress.com: Personal is $4/mo billed yearly; form file uploads need Business, $25/mo billed yearly. Plugins can add their own cost. Zarla is free to build and preview, and you pay when you publish, on the Premium plan. Each price is the builder's own, read on its pricing or help pages (September 28, 2026); check it for your country before you buy.

Is Wix good for a bar?

Yes: Wix placed first of five here, with 15 of 18 points. Of the tests that are particular to bars, it gets a tick on "Your drinks menu on the page, easy to change", "Live music and events, with tickets" and "Tables and private parties booked online". The catch: bookings need the Core plan rather than the cheapest one, and pages for each town you serve are yours to write.
